A New Beginning at the Farm
Once upon a time, by a glistening silver lake, a mother duck waited eagerly for her eggs to hatch. One by one, tiny golden ducklings popped out, chirping and wobbling about. But the largest egg, different from the rest, took longer to hatch.
Finally, it cracked open, and out came a strange-looking duckling, with smoky gray feathers and a long, awkward neck.
Different from the Rest
The mother duck loved all her ducklings equally, but the farm animals couldn’t help but notice the odd one out.
The other ducklings teased him mercilessly, calling him the “Ugly Duckling.”

There, he saw a group of elegant swans gliding across the water, their white feathers shining in the sun.

As he bent over the lake’s edge, he caught sight of his reflection — and gasped.
No longer was he the awkward, gray duckling.
He had grown into a magnificent swan, with feathers as pure as snow and wings strong and proud.
